Alder Studio Interiors is a boutique residential design studio creating layered, textural homes rooted in landscape, architecture, and collected living.

Founded by designer Kyra Edwards, the studio reflects a deeply personal design perspective shaped by both heritage and modern life. A Bay Area transplant, Kyra relocated to California’s Sierra Foothills with her growing family, drawn to the region’s slower pace, historic architecture, and connection to the natural landscape. This transition continues to inform the studio’s work — interiors that feel grounded, livable, and enduring.

With over a decade of experience in residential interior design, Kyra has led projects ranging from full-scale renovations to turnkey second homes. Her work balances refined furnishings, thoughtful space planning, and material-driven detailing — always tailored to the rhythms of daily living.

A lifelong appreciation for heritage pieces was instilled early. Kyra’s grandparents owned an antique store during her childhood, where she spent countless hours surrounded by storied furnishings, collected objects, and heirloom textiles. That foundation shaped her belief that homes feel most meaningful when they carry history — even as they evolve for contemporary life.

Today, Alder Studio Interiors blends that reverence for the past with a modern sensibility. The studio’s work leans clean and edited, yet layered with warmth — pairing antiques with contemporary upholstery, vintage art with architectural lighting, and organic materials with functional design.

The result is interiors that feel both elevated and deeply personal — homes designed not just to be seen, but to be lived in.
